The successful candidate will have experience in reporting or editing financial market stories and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. She or he will be expected to edit breaking news stories under deadline pressure but also have a passion for big ideas.
The deputy should have the ability to inspire, manage and mentor a team of reporters. She or he also should know how to present complex financial stories in a way that appeals to a broad readership.
The successful candidate should also have the temperament to work well with other markets editors in New York and in overseas bureaus.
