The Worcester Business Journal seeks an intelligent, hard-driving reporter to cover the manufacturing and higher education beats in Central Massachusetts – in addition to a couple of secondary beats – contributing significantly to our print, digital, enews and social products.
This is an ideal opportunity for a New England-based reporter looking to learn the ropes on how to write for a specific audience, understand business journalism and know all facets of a media organization carving out its niche in a busy market and redefining the roles of print and digital journalism.
Candidates must be able to understand how top business decision makers think; quick enough to write a web-only article in 10-15 minutes; and thoughtful enough to pen a 1,500-word feature relating directly to our audience. Desired skills include insider-source building, computer-assisted reporting, previous business writing experience and multimedia knowledge.
Knowledge of the Central Massachusetts market is a significant plus.
We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package and the opportunity to be part of a multi- location media company that promotes from within. We do not offer relocation expenses.
