The Guardian seeks tech reporter on West Coast

Guardian US is an entirely digital operation that seeks to engage US readers by combining the Guardian’s internationalist, online journalism with U.S. voices and expertise.

We are now looking for reporters that can write about the social impact of technology, writing rich, authoritative, accurate and agenda setting news and features. You will have an open mind, the confidence to ​objectively scrutinize big technology firms and be skilled at writing the human stories that illustrate the disruption technology is creating in sectors as diverse as health, transport and politics. We welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds and experience.

You will work as a collaborative member of a digital-first newsroom based in San Francisco, Calif..

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
