Reuters is looking for an outstanding reporter and writer to cover the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry – both markets and companies – in Houston.
The reporter would also contribute to wider coverage of the biggest international oil and gas, oil services and energy companies as a member of Reuters’ global corporate energy team. The ideal candidate will be as comfortable writing about the intricacies of corporate strategies as global energy flows. You will be a team player ready to collaborate with Reuters journalists in Asia, the United States and Europe to produce hard-hitting and exclusive stories.
We need a journalist who can write on deadline and use video and other media for storytelling. A knowledge of LNG markets, customers and pricing, and a firm grasp of energy pipeline businesses will be an advantage. This position is an opportunity to report on the top providers, traders and customers for LNG as the U.S. moves to become the world’s largest exporter of the fuel.
You should have:
A track record of in-depth reporting and ability to tackle ambitious and high-impact stories
An ability to cultivate business contacts and explain complex topics in a concise, clear way
Strong news judgment and ability to deliver stories in a fast-paced newsroom
