Kevin Delaney

Catherine Kim, executive vice president of editorial and content at NBC News, and Sat Brainch, chief business officer at NBCUniversal News Group, sent out the following announcement:

We’re pleased to share that Kevin Delaney is joining NBC News in the newly created role of Head of Digital Content and Subscription, reporting to both of us.

As we continue to strengthen our digital business and expand our direct-to-consumer offerings, Kevin will work to develop content to support new opportunities that drive audience and revenue growth.

As part of this new structure, Kevin will oversee Digital Publishing and AI, with Tom Namako, who leads Digital Publishing, and Hanna Helin, who leads AI Initiatives, reporting to him. Arianna Davis, who leads TODAY Digital, and Jessica Mailloux, who oversees Audiences, will also work closely with Kevin to strengthen alignment across our brands and identify new ways to engage audiences.

A widely respected leader in digital journalism, Kevin brings a unique combination of editorial leadership and entrepreneurial experience. He co-founded Quartz, a pioneering mobile-first business news site, and Charter, a digital media company focused on leadership in an era of AI and change. He served as CEO and Editor in Chief of both companies, leading each to acquisition. Most recently, Kevin served as Editor in Chief of The San Francisco Standard, a local news innovator, which acquired Charter and where he led ambitious journalism and the creation of an AI-powered news app.

Previously, Kevin held senior editorial roles at The Wall Street Journal, where he oversaw digital editorial efforts and helped expand its subscription product offerings, as well as at The New York Times and The Information. He began his career as a TV producer in Montreal.

Kevin’s experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve our digital offerings.

Kevin will officially join us on Monday, November 16. Please join us in welcoming him to NBC News.

Thank you,

Catherine and Sat
