The Orlando Sentinel is looking for a reporter to cover local health news for print and online.
This reporter will provide strong, local, consumer-focused coverage on health news. It’s an important beat in Central Florida, with the growing Lake Nona Medical City — which includes Sanford-Burnham, the UCF medical school and the soon-to-open veterans hospital – as well as two huge hospital chains, Orlando Health and Florida Hospital.
Responsibilities:
The health reporter is tasked with writing premium content on a wide array of health news as well as covering health events. The reporter must be adept at using social media to build a following and to share news, as well as comfortable shooting photos and video.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have experience at a daily news organization or similar web operation and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Previous health reporting experience is preferred.
