Grand Forks HeraldThe Grand Forks Herald is looking for a hard-working, ambitious reporter to cover business and economic news in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.

The right candidate will be able to break news on the places readers work, shop and spend their free time while digging into big-picture trends in the economy, personal finance and the workplace.

This position requires a web-first mentality that will produce quick files, video and reader interactions to make the Herald’s website home to a steady stream of news that draws readers to the site throughout the day.

Grand Forks is a newsy, young college town, home to the University of North Dakota, Division I athletics and a growing tech industry and is near to many cultural and recreational opportunities. We cover a wide region in two states and tackle stories with an impact across our company’s four-state footprint. We strive daily to live up to our reputation for Pulitzer-winning work with big-thinking enterprise and deep-diving beat work.

We welcome experienced reporters as well as newer journalists with strong work ethics and great clips for the position, which offers competitive pay and benefits with health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) and paid time off.

Applicants should email a resume, cover letter and five clips to Kirsten Stromsodt, editor, by Dec. 22, 2017, to kstromsodt@gfherald.com.
