MarketWatch.com seeks an editor to help run its personal finance team.
Based in New York, the ideal candidate will work to filter the news of the day through a single question: “What does this mean for me and my money?” It’s what readers of every news story wonder on some level, and in a financial climate with boundless opportunity for bad decision making, answering it has never been more important.
This editor will be responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day flow of online coverage, working closely with our team of reporters, writers and editors to create sophisticated yet accessible investing and personal-finance stories — ranging from daily articles pegged to news, strong analysis of news events, broader and more in-depth features and ‘news you can use’ projects.
Position Requirements: The editor will need at least five years news journalism experience, experience in online publishing, strong editing and writing skills, an interest in personal finance journalism, and a keen understanding of how to engage audiences on multiple platforms and via social networks. This position is based in New York.
Application should include a resume and cover letter.
