Investopedia seeks financial data journalist

InvestopediaInvestopedia is looking for a financial data journalist who has expertise in using the technological tools to mine various resources and create unique and visually-interesting data-driven articles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create, maintain and be the point person for Investopedia’s new Markets Intelligence data desk covering financial markets
  • Conceive and execute data-driven stories based on trends and market-moving information, including a set weekly roster of regular features
  • Act as the data point person, farming compelling data and supporting content out to various writers and editors

Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years of experience with FactSet, or similar financial data products
  • An intimate knowledge of banking and investing products including stocks, indices, mutual funds, ETFs, bonds, wealth management, options, futures, commodities and forex
  • Deep knowledge in economics and finance. Knowledge of trends in data-driven social theory a plus
  • Skill in creating charts, graphs, and other visual representations of data using Excel, Photoshop, keynote and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Drupal content management system (CMS)
  • Fluent command of written English
