Inside INdiana Business—which covers business news through television, radio, email newsletters and the web—is seeking strong reporters to fill two full-time and several freelance positions throughout Indiana.
A division of IBJ Media in Indianapolis, Inside INdiana Business is expanding its reach in the state over the next year with email newsletters focused on several communities and regions. As part of that effort, we are looking for Indiana freelance writers in or near Evansville, South Bend and Fort Wayne—and would be interested in talking to writers located in other parts of the state. Freelancers with experience in radio would be especially welcome, although that’s not required.
In addition, we are hiring a full-time writer and editor who will contribute stories to those newsletters and other Inside INdiana Business efforts and coordinate freelancers who are contributing as well.
We are also hiring a full-time reporter who will contribute to IIB’s daily web and radio content.
Both of the full-time positions can be based in Indianapolis, but we will consider candidates who live or are willing to live elsewhere in Indiana. Freelance candidates should live in Indiana or just outside Indiana if they are easy commuting distance to Evansville, South Bend or Fort Wayne.
Because we are filling several positions, we can be flexible about which skills are assigned to which position as well as where the positions are located geographically. So if you are curious, thoughtful and dependable and have an interest in covering business news (which includes restaurants and retail, economic development, health care, life sciences, technology, government and more), please send us your resume. We would love to hear from you.
Inside INdiana Business is an award-winning multi-media news platform that distributes business news through an Emmy award-winning weekly television show, website, two daily email newsletters and two daily radio reports. The TV show and radio reports are aired throughout the state, including in all of the state’s largest media markets.
These positions will answer to Alex Brown, Inside INdiana Business’s managing editor, and will be part of a larger 20-person newsroom that also produces the Indianapolis Business Journal. IBJ Media is a locally owned news organization that focuses on coverage of and for the business community, but we interpret business broadly. In fact, a key part of our focus is covering the intersection of business and government.
