We are looking for a terrific and experienced Editor/Reporter to join our small, dedicated staff. We are a scrappy bunch of magazine folk who publish a print (and digital) magazine, several e-newsletters a week, podcasts, video interviews, and keep a website updated. Habitat Magazine has been published since 1982 catering to NYC co-op and condo board directors and the professionals who support them. As a real estate magazine for non-real estate professionals we’ve become a crucial source of information within this niche community. Our journalism standards are high and accuracy is key. If you like local news and have a genuine interest in understanding how these unique communities govern themselves, you’ll discover that reporting for this audience is not only essential but also exceptionally well-received.
Key responsibilities:
Work Enviroment: Since Covid, we have gone fully remote. We meet each morning over zoom, and stay in contact throughout the day using Ring Central. You’ll be equipped with a company-owned Mac computer, and we ensure its optimal performance with the assistance of a dedicated IT partner. Additionally, every member of our editorial team is equipped with a Yeti microphone, an essential tool for conducting podcase and video interviews.
Benefits: Health insurance and retirement plan
Application: Send a letter and resume to jobs@habitatmag.com.
Tell us why you are interested in this position, and point to things in your past work experience that you think makes you an excellent candidate for this post. We look forward to hearing from you!
