Dow Jones is seeking a sharp, versatile reporter to join our real-time news and analysis team, serving financial professionals around the world.
Based in London, you’ll be on the front line of breaking news, spotting market-moving developments as they happen and turning them into headlines and stories that set the agenda.
This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office, with early starts (and early finishes) on a rotational basis.
You Will
- Monitor European markets and corporate news, flashing headlines and short articles that move quickly across trading floors.
- Explain the “why” behind stock, sector, and index moves, using real-time data and sharp analysis.
- Track corporate earnings, economic releases, and policy shifts – identifying what truly matters for investors.
- Deliver fast, accurate, jargon-free copy that professionals rely on to make decisions.
- Shape longer-form and thematic pieces that connect the dots between markets, economies, and global events.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Dow Jones Newswires, The Wall Street Journal, and bureaus worldwide.
- Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, speed, and editorial integrity.
You Have
- Excellent written English; proficiency in another European language is highly valued.
- Proven news judgment, attention to detail, and ability to cut through noise.
- Familiarity with financial markets, earnings, economic indicators, or regulation.
- The drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume newsroom, balancing speed with precision.
- Calm under deadline pressure, with flexibility to switch gears at a moment’s notice.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- An understanding of newsroom workflows and a curiosity to keep learning
