Personal finance site Investopedia has added a Substack newsletter called “Value Add,” writes editor in chief Caleb Silver.

The newsletter will cost $19 a month of $156 for the year.

Silver writes, “Value Add is for people who are ready to move beyond the financial basics.

“You have an emergency fund. You try to avoid bad debt. You understand the importance of capturing an employer’s 401(k) match when one is available. You know diversification matters, and you have learned, perhaps the expensive way, that trying to time every turn in the market is not a sustainable strategy.

“You don’t need another lecture about the basics.

“You need a trusted partner who can help you build wealth and reach your financial goals whether you are making those decisions yourself or trying to have more productive conversations with a financial advisor.

“You are ambitious. So are we. But ambition without discipline and a strategy is speculation, and markets have a habit of charging tuition to investors who confuse a hot streak with a plan.”
