Jackson Guilfoil, who covered major employers, energy and technology for the Denver Business Journal, has left the publication.
Before joining the DBJ, he worked as the lead reporter and assistant editor at the Eureka Times-Standard, the paper of record for California’s north coast. During his time in California, Guilfoil covered forests, the ocean, government and crime.
Guilfoil won a first-place award from the San Francisco Press Club for digital reporting over a story about how a young boy impacted by the digital divide navigated remote learning during the pandemic. At the Times-Standard, his reporting on the final days of Eureka’s last video rental store was recognized by the California News Publishers Association.
Guilfoil has a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He began his career while studying journalism at San Francisco State University.
