Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced and well-sourced reporter to cover digital payments and crypto in New York.

You will join a global team of reporters and editors responsible for covering the biggest and most interesting stories at the intersection of digital currency and digital payments, and how these developments are being shaped by regulatory, political and social forces.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues on a range of teams in our global newsroom, including finance and tech, to deliver stories about how companies and individuals at the nexus of crypto and fintech are seeking to challenge incumbents on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley.

We’re looking for someone with a track record of delivering scoops, a commitment to cultivating a deep and diverse network of sources, and a deeply collaborative approach to reporting.

WE’LL TRUST YOU TO:

  •   Break news on the biggest names and developments in digital payments, fintech and crypto
  •   Be a team player and collaborate closely with our colleagues across the newsroom
  •   Deliver a mix of spot news, features, and enterprise across our platforms – including opportunities for audio, video, and Bloomberg TV

YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

  •   A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in financial journalism
  •   A track record of building sources and breaking news
  •   A keen interest in global financial markets and companies and demonstrated experience of translating complex technical topics into interesting and accessible stories
  •   The ability to write quickly and concisely under tight deadlines to deliver coverage that is timely and accurate
