The Albuquerque Journal is seeking a Business Reporter who is able to convey the story of entrepreneurs and small businesses. The ideal candidate will appreciate the significant role that small businesses play in the economy and will be eager to cultivate sources through on-the-ground reporting.
The Business Reporter will be responsible for writing stories about the most recent trends and developments affecting the local business community, such as new zoning rules, labor issues, and real estate development. The role requires a passion for storytelling as well as the capacity to analyze critically and inspire audience engagement.
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a Reporter
- Ability to gather, write and edit news
- Computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search, databases)
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Proof of auto-insurance
- Valid NM drivers license and acceptable driving record
- Integrity and morality
