Moral Money, the FT’s award-winning newsletter on sustainability issues, is seeking a new Editor to lead coverage and further development. You will cover sustainability issues for the Moral Money newsletter and the wider Financial Times. F
Moral Money’s expansion is likely to continue in the coming year since sustainability and ESG issues are becoming increasingly important for business, finance and markets, and our coverage of them is a key factor that differentiates FT coverage from rivals, particularly in the American market. There is enormous scope for scoops, agenda-setting analysis and deep reporting in this field, and events such as the forthcoming COP-26 climate negotiations in Glasgow, creation of new ESG accounting standards, rise of the racial justice movement, gender equality campaigns and rising ESG activism mean that the story is likely to be of high interest to FT readers for the foreseeable future.
The ESG space is awash with PR spin, so one of the key responsibilities of the role is to cut through this and ensure we hold companies to account.
The position has previously been based in New York. However, it could also potentially be based in London. It can be performed in a fairly flexible manner, albeit with regular scheduled commitments around the twice-weekly newsletter publication.
