FT seeks a San Francisco correspondent

We require an experienced correspondent to keep a close eye and even lead some stories on key competitors such as Google and Microsoft. For example, these groups are battling each other over the future of cloud computing, a sector that is vital to businesses worldwide.

The beat includes other responsibilities and will provide a wider target area for an energetic reporter to make a mark. It includes some coverage of rival ecommerce companies such as Shopify, gig economy groups such as Uber and Airbnb, and software-as-a-service companies like Salesforce. Tech is constantly evolving. This job requires a reporter who can show initiative, flexibility and the willingness to take hold of more companies and corporate stories as they rise in prominence.

In this way, you will need to be collegiate, sharing tips and supporting the coverage of fellow tech reporters in San Francisco, London and beyond. The demands are high, but the opportunity is massive: reporting on the people and companies that will change global tech and business in the years to come.
