Forbes seeks hedge fund reporter

Forbes is looking for an exceptional journalist to help with its coverage of the world’s financial titans.

Writing for both the magazine and Forbes.com, you’ll play a key role in the creation of some of our most important lists, including the World’s Billionaires, Forbes 400, The Highest-Paid Hedge Fund Managers, 30 Under 30 in financial services and many more. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Skilled at researching, interviewing and writing thoughtfully about hedge fund billionaires and other influential people in the world’s financial markets;
  • An expert in breaking news and telling compelling stories for both print and online;
  • Able to help recruit and manage a team of outside contributors who can lend their experience and expertise to writing about hedge funds;
  • Knowledgeable regarding how the asset management industry—and its unique culture–works and have a deep interest in it
  • Exceptionally numerate and proficient with Excel
  • Deeply familiar with major corporate financial documents, SEC filings and investment documents

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
