Forbes Media seeks an Associate Content Producer to support Forbes Business channel.
Producers are the lynchpin of the Forbes newsroom. They work at the intersection of editorial (staff writers, editors and outside contributors) and internal teams within Forbes: audience development, social, sales optimization, product and development.
Responsibilities include:
- Work on front lines of channel and section pages. Read and edit (as appropriate) content on the channel and site and fix issues when discovered.
- Manage guest submissions – acknowledge receipt of submitted articles and act as main point of contact
- Train and support outside contributors on how to use and optimize Forbes publishing tools.
- Find, recruit, and set up contributors at the direction of editors
- Facilitate communication between Forbes editors and contributors.
- Read and correct content on assigned channel and overall site
- Work with audience development to monitor traffic trends and optimize pages
- Update channel and section pages to keep them fresh and interesting. Update home page and special sections when required
- Monitor news and alert staff and contributors to aid their coverage ability
- Work with channel editor to update channel pages and sponsored/special sections
- Create photo galleries for stories and special reports/landers
- Collaborate with social team to highlight and promote stories
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 6 months to 1 year of relevant work or internship experience in digital journalism or related are
- Hands-on experience with publishing platforms (Tumblr, WordPress, etc.)
- Strong focus on hard business news: energy, logistics, autos, retail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently when required while at the same time operate efficiently in a team dynamic
- Strong oral and written communication skills and a keen eye for detail
