Dow Jones News seeks a seasoned, enterprising reporter for its agricultural commodities team in Chicago.
The reporter would cover daily developments in the futures markets for grains and livestock, delivering scoops and exclusive insights for digital and print audiences on the trends and gyrations that ultimately determine the cost of the food we eat, as well as the financial fortunes of farmers and global agribusiness giants.
The reporter also would write longer-term features exploring shifts in the markets and on U.S. farms at a time when the agriculture sector is responding to rising food demand from China and other emerging economies.
The candidate should have at least three years experience covering markets and/or agriculture, a robust list of industry sources, and the ability to handle the pressures of real-time coverage while also seizing opportunities to write deeper, longer pieces.
