Consumer Reports is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and creative editor to help develop the Home & Appliance division’s content strategy, covering everything from the best mattresses of the year and emerging and trending products to how to find an appliance during a shortage and how to lower your utility bills. You’ll work closely with our team of in-house writers and editors to deliver best-in-class, reader-focused service content across multiple platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Assign, edit, and produce content for digital and print platforms.
- Work with video and social media teams to produce engaging content.
- Manage and mentor staff writers while overseeing delivery of timely, accurate content.
- Partner with teams across our organization (test engineers and market analysts, as well as members of our survey, advocacy, statistics, communications, design, and other teams) to make on-strategy, data-driven content decisions.
- Act as an in-house spokesperson or source for external media interviews, as well as a subject-matter expert on camera in CR videos.
- Move content through the production process.
- Pursue in-depth reporting and writing projects, as necessary.
ABOUT YOU
What We Need To See
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least five years of editing experience.
- Experience managing and mentoring writers.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
