The Role:
Bloomberg News is seeking a First Word Editor in our New York office. The person in this role will be responsible for providing on-the-spot, concise written reports on breaking mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, earnings, and other corporate events. Editors responding to this ad should have a minimum of five years of journalism experience and experience covering companies and/or finance in a real-time news environment. Great Wall Street contacts and/or specific beat experience (technology or finance) a plus. Editors should have the ability and industry-specific knowledge to immediately discern actionable information from breaking news and have strong writing skills.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Knowledge of the economy, financial markets, and business
-Minimum of five years of business editing experience
-Great Wall Street contacts and/or specific beat experience (technology or finance) a plus.
