Bloomberg BNA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bloomberg, and a leading source of legal, regulatory, and business information for professionals, seeks a Managing Editor to manage the operational, editorial, and production activities of assigned multinational research publications in print and electronic formats.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan coverage and select tax content from a wide array of sources for multinational research products
- Make writing, updating, and editing assignments; edit or technically review content from outside authors and line editors
- Coordinate coverage and assignments with staff and special consultants and correspondents
- Coordinate print and electronic product updates to ensure consistency of content
- Ensure print and electronic production cycle deadlines are met
- Supervise staff and provide opportunities for development and improvement of writing, research, and other technical skills
- Work with HR to give staff performance evaluations and make decisions for reclassifications, promotions, terminations, and new hires
- Implement disciplinary actions; write tax content for inclusion in various international works
- Work cross-divisionally to develop and implement a joint editorial strategy to provide information and materials for various publications and uses
- Monitor the business and financial performance of publications and recommend changes and updates in response to customer needs and performance in the marketplace
- Coordinate or combine coverage with other BNA products or services
- Prepare and monitor budget and ensure compliance; respond to calls and letters from subscribers
- Seek feedback from subscribers and cancellees regarding product usage, coverage, and value to user; explore new product proposals related to assigned publications
- Maintain current knowledge of developments on issues related to publications scope of coverage
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned.
