Yahoo Finance has hired Dion Rabouin as a markets reporter.
His first day is Jan. 8. In this new role, he will covering the daily machinations of the markets in both text and video, as well as producing enterprise work.
“We’re delighted Dion is joining Yahoo Finance as a markets reporter,” says Yahoo Finance editor in chief Andy Serwer in a statement. “He has deep experience reporting on all manner of things financial, from emerging markets to currencies to Treasuries. Besides his core markets coverage, Dion’s eclectic body of work includes stories on Latin America, sports, politics, civil rights and education.”
Prior to joining Yahoo Finance, Rabouin was with Reuters, where he served as the news agency’s sole emerging markets reporter. His coverage included everything from breaking news on investment trends to enterprise stories on emerging economies with a focus on Latin America, as well as interviews with presidents, central bank governors and senior government officials from around the world.
Rabouin also covered U.S. Treasury and global government debt markets as well as the foreign exchange currency market. He was a regular contributor to Reuters’ daily bond, FX and global markets reports.
Over the past decade, Rabouin’s wide-ranging freelance work has been published in outlets such as ESPN.com, The Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles Daily News, Newsweek, The Root, and numerous others. He’s reported from locations across the globe, including South America, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, San Francisco, Ghana and beyond. He’s also held positions with the International Business Times and Atlanta Daily World.
Dion is a graduate of Ithaca College and lives in New York City.
