Daily Mail hires Davies as US editor in chief

Katie Davies has been hired as U.S. editor-in-chief of DailyMail.com in New York.

Davies will oversee the US newsroom and is focused on building on the success and expanding the reach of the Daily Mail brand.

“The Daily Mail brand has never been seen, read or viewed by more users and I am delighted to rejoin at such a pivotal time,” said Davies in a statement. DailyMail.com has proven it has incredible reach on whatever platform it touches and I look forward to continuing that momentum stateside while working with the incredibly talented newsroom to deliver quality content and experiences to our millions of loyal users.”

Prior to joining Daily Mail, Davies served as the U.S. editor of The Times and Sunday Times. She was also the former U.S. editor of The Independent and spent seven years as a senior editor at DailyMail.com in New York.
