Jason Davis has joined Crain’s Detroit Business as a reporter covering small and emerging businesses in metro Detroit.
His beat will be focused on a business sector that has been especially hard-hit by the pandemic.
His coverage will also highlight what businesses are doing to survive as the economy bounces back.
Davis brings more than 15 years of reporting experience in metro Detroit to the newsroom, covering local government, schools, economic development and sports.
Previously, Davis was a sports writer at C&G Newspapers. He was also a staff reporter at Livingston County Daily Press & Argus. There, he was covering several beats, composing stories every day, coordinating and composing and developing enterprise stories.
He has also worked at Dearborn Press & Guide for more than two years, holding numerous posts, including news editor, editorial manager, Dearborn, Dearborn Schools reporter, page designer and youth and education reporter.
Additionally, he has also worked as a staff writer at both Northville Record and Journal Newspapers.
He has also served as an adjunct journalism instructor at Henry Ford College, where he has supervised the student newspaper.
Davis is a B.A. in journalism from Michigan State University and a M.A. in education from Eastern Michigan University.
