Business Insider senior tech reporter Melia Robinson Russell has been hired by the San Francisco Chronicle to cover people and companies in the tech industry.
She starts on Sept. 17.
“We are thrilled to have her join the Business team and share her keen story instincts with the San Francisco Chronicle’s readership,” said Chronicle business editor Owen Thomas.
Russell has been at Business Insider for the past five years. Her coverage spans startups, venture capital, consumer tech, apps, marketplaces, robotics, real estate, food, tech culture, and San Francisco Bay Area news and issues.
After studying journalism and information management and technology at Syracuse University, she joined Business Insider as an intern in 2013. She helped jump-start its sister site, Tech Insider, in 2015.
Her work has also been featured in Slate, Yahoo, MSN, HuffPost, and O, The Oprah Magazine.
