Jodi Schneider, an editor on Bloomberg’s North Asia economy team in Tokyo, will be moving to Hong Kong to be an editor on the top news team.
“I am looking forward to getting to help shape the big stories in the region every day…and to continue my Asian adventure in another exciting city!” she wrote on Facebook.
Schneider joined the Washington bureau of Bloomberg News in November 2010 as team leader for tax policy. In January 2012, she expanded her role to be team leader for Congress, including tax policy. She moved to Tokyo a year ago.
She previously held senior editing position at American Banker. She had previously worked for Congressional Quarterly and as local business editor of the Washington Post.
Schneider had been the the economics and finance editor of Congressional Quarterly, before becoming the media outlet’s first training director in 2007. Previously, she was an assistant managing editor at U.S. News & World Report.
Schneider had been a deputy managing editor at The Orlando Sentinel as well as an editor and reporter at newspapers in Wisconsin, Colorado and Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
