The Washington Post announced Tuesday the hiring of Joy Robins as chief revenue officer.

Robins will oversee sales divisions that provide a range of innovative solutions for advertisers to reach The Post’s influential readership. She will lead all aspects of advertising including WP BrandStudio’s custom content programs, RED’s cutting-edge ad tech, event sponsorship, video, audio and programmatic.

Robins joins The Post after five and a half years at Quartz, most recently serving as global chief revenue officer. There she led the company to triple-digit growth while holding senior positions, including senior vice president of global revenue and strategy and vice president of advertising and strategy.

Before joining Quartz, Robins was a senior director at NBC News Digital and Vice President of digital advertising at BBC Worldwide. Her early career included positions at The Weather Channel and OMD.

She graduated from Rutgers University.

“I could not be more thrilled to be joining The Washington Post, a company that holds such an important place in the history of journalism and that is now leading the way in developing the news products and business models of tomorrow,” said Robins in a statement.
