The owners of Arkansas-based Talk Business & Politics have entered into an agreement to acquire the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal for an undisclosed amount.
A story on the Talk Business & Politics website states, “Owners of Natural State Media, the parent company of Talk Business & Politics, have worked with Gray Matters owners Darin and Tami Gray for more than two months on the deal. Roby Brock, publisher and CEO of Natural State Media, said he was grateful for the Grays’ trust and willingness to sell a company they had spent many years growing into a successful enterprise.
“‘Darin and Tami created a tremendous brand and operation in Northwest Arkansas. They pulled together great people to help it grow as Darin transitioned to his new career with CJRW,’ Brock said. ‘In our early discussions, they made it clear the Journal would be sold only to someone who they believed best understood the future of journalism. We’re pleased they placed that belief in us.’
“Darin said he and Tami believe selling to Natural State Media is a ‘natural progression’ for the company they built.
“Darin Gray, now the chairman and CEO of Little Rock-based CJRW, one of the largest marketing and advertising agencies in the southeast U.S., was interested in selling the NWABJ to a media company able to build upon their success.”
