Shea Van Hoy, the editor of the Jeffersonville (Indiana) News and Tribune, has been hired as the managing editor of Louisville Business First, an American City Business Journals newspaper.
In a goodbye column for the News and Tribune, Van Hoy wrote, “Former NT Executive Editor Steve Kozarovich was my mentor from back in our Kokomo Tribune days and he brought me here in 2005 and taught me how to be an editor. He’s always believed in me and had my back.
“My current boss, Publisher Bill Hanson, is as good at his job as anyone I know. He’s provided stability and guidance to this paper, and he lets the editorial department do its collective job, with support but without meddling.
“Then there’s the countless sources, advertisers, community leaders and readers who have provided me with a good job for more than 10 years. Sometimes the phone calls and emails aren’t pleasant, but I’m thankful for the chance to edit this newspaper, and you’ve made that possible.
“One the most bizarre reader calls came in the last few weeks, resulting in the caller canceling his subscription over something we got completely correct. That was a first.”
