Considerable, a personal finance site aimed at consumers in their 50s and 60s, has had a soft launch with an official launch aimed for September.
The site, which is run by former Money magazine editor Diane Harris, is focusing on five content areas: Money, Work, Family & Home, Health & Wellness, and Pursuits.
Considerable is backed by venture capital investors.
“The response to Considerable so far, from the experts and other sources we’ve talked to, as well as the writers who are working with us, has been terrific — even moving, I’d say,” said Harris. “The concept seems to really resonate with everyone we talk to — people who are in the life stage we’re focusing on, naturally, but also with many younger people.”
“There are other sites and publications doing excellent work in this space, but these readers are still, as a group, very underserved, compared with, say, the number of media brands targeting millennials,” she added. “There’s certainly room for more coverage, more voices, more points of view. And even, at times, a little more fun.”
Harris said she is still in hiring mode, with four open editorial positions.
