Greater Binghamton Business Journal to launch next month

March 4, 2006

Circulation for the Greater Binghamton Business Journal in New York is expected to be 4,000, and the first issue will hit newstands on April 17.

Greater Binghamton Business JournalSister publication Central New York Business Review reported: “Michael W. Lurie has been named associate publisher of The Greater Binghamton Business Journal. During his career, Lurie has done technical and design work for various companies in the Binghamton area and at one time published an independent weekly newspaper.

“Lurie has secured an office at 84 Court St. in Binghamton and hired his staff. Part of the preparation for the launch included talks with business leaders and others involved in economic development and revitalization.”

Business news competition is heating up in the area. The sole source of business news in print currently offered in the region is the Money Page of the Gannett-owned daily newspaper, The Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin. In the near future, however, the Press & Sun Bulletin will be launching a monthly business publication of its own.
