Cicely Wedgeworth will be joining The New York Times Washington bureau as a senior staff editor and a deputy weekend editor.
Her new role begins September 13.
Wedgeworth joins from Realtor.com, where she has worked for over 7 years, most recently as managing editor of news and insights. She has served in other roles as well, including senior editor of home improvement and deputy managing editor of news and insights.
She also spent 13 years in the Silicon Valley, where she worked in corporate communications at eBay, and as a front-page producer for Yahoo. She has also edited at The Los Angeles Times and has written a newsletter for Chowhound, the restaurant review site.
Wedgeworth has a bachelor’s degree in social anthropology from Harvard and a master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Journalism.
