The Washington Post has tapped Ann Gerhart as senior editor for visual enterprise.
In her new role, Gerhart “will partner with journalists across the newsroom to develop and elevate work that seamlessly incorporates a variety of storytelling techniques, especially visual reporting.” She will also help sharpen ideas and do more ambitious journalism in fresh ways.
She will also be leading cross-functional teams to cover some targets off the news.
Gerhart has been at The Post for more than 13 years, joining as a reliable source columnist. She then held the post of Writer in Style, The Washington Post’s daily features section, before serving as a features editor, style.
She has also been a National writer, America editor and deputy Outlook editor, and was also part of the regular rotation as weekend/Sunday editor and will continue in that role.
