New York Times Opinion has named Alexandra Sifferlin its new health and science editor.
Her new role begins on Feb. 16.
Recently, Sifferlin was the deputy editor of Elemental, a digital publication by Medium about the science of health and wellness. She launched and edited Medium’s Covid-19 blog. She has also been overseeing daily coverage and analysis since the beginning of the pandemic.
Previously, she was senior editor, health and science, at the company.
She has also worked at Time Magazine for more than 6 years, joining as a TIME.com web and politics intern. Later, she held the post of health reporter and then that of staff writer, health. She has also served as an editorial intern at Rolling Stone Magazine.
She was also a Marie Claire Magazine features intern at Hearst Magazines.
Additionally, she has also interned at MORE Magazine – Meredith Corporation, Prevention Magazine – Rodale, Tiger Oak Publications and City of Edina.
Sifferlin is a B.S. in Journalism and International Studies from Northwestern University.
