MSNBC has moved Joy Reid into the early evening time slot vacated by former “Hardball” host Chris Matthew‘s retirement in March.
Reid, a weekend anchor at the network and lately has subbed in the 7 p.m. Eastern time slot, now holds the post full-time. She will also be doing a Washington-based show dubbed “The ReidOut.”
She says that she’s focused on ““bringing in diverse, smart and accomplished voices to the table on topics that are important to our viewers.”
“I’m honored and thankful for this opportunity,” she added.
