Sam Owens will be joining the San Antonio Express-News photo staff.
Her new role begins in September.
Recently, Owens was a staff photographer for the Evansville Courier & Press. She also held the same post at the Charleston Gazette-Mail. She has also interned at MLive.com, Tampa Bay Times, and The Roanoke Times.
Owens also serves as the Midwest Regional Chair for the National Press Photographers Association and the contest chairwoman for the Indiana News Photographers Association’s annual Photographer of the Year competition.
Owens is a graduate of Ohio University.
