The New York Times has announced that Jacey Fortin and Sarah Mervosh will be joining the national desk as education reporters.
Fortin will cover K-12 and higher education. She has been with The Times for over 4 years. At one point before becoming a journalist, she worked as an English teacher at a community college in South Carolina.
Fortin graduated from Northeastern University.
Mervosh will cover K-12 for The Times. She joined in 2018 as a reporter on the express desk and joined national as a general assignment reporter in 2019. She has also worked for six years at The Dallas Morning News.
Mervosh graduated from the University of Notre Dame.
