NPR has promoted Shirley Henry to deputy managing editor for recruitment and development. In her new role, Henry will be a key partner in helping recruit new and diverse talent at all levels of the newsroom.
Henry has been with NPR for over 7 years, recently serving as chief Washington editor. Before that, she has held the posts of deputy Washington editor and senior editor, Washington desk.
Henry has also worked at CNN for over 9 years.
Henry graduated from Boston University.
