Nikita Stewart is moving into The New York Times culture and lifestyle department as a real estate editor. She recently served as assistant editor on the Metro desk.
Stewart joined The Times in 2014 as a reporter and has worked in the City Hall bureau and on the social services beat. Previously, she was with The Washington Post for more than 9 years, and has reported for The Star-Ledger in Newark.
Stewart is also the author of “Troop 6000: The Girl Scout Troop That Began in a Shelter and Inspired the World” and has also been honored with the Ida B. Wells Award for “Exceptional Coverage of Communities of Color.”
