Melanie Mason is now L.A.-based national political correspondent at the Los Angeles Times. In her new role, she will focus on campaigns, constituencies and related issues.
Mason has been with the Times for more than 10 years, joining as a staff writer in the Washington bureau, covering money and politics. She then became a staff writer at the Sacramento bureau, covering state government and politics, before becoming a staff writer.
Prior to joining the Times, Mason was a reporting intern, Washington bureau, at The Dallas Morning News. She has also worked as a Bay Area blog intern at The New York Times and was a reporting intern at Politico.
Mason holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
