Dallas Morning News subscriptions on the rise since last year

The Dallas Morning News reported a 29 percent increase in its subscriptions last year. Keeping up with that trend, the publication further reported a consistent increase in its subscriptions for the first four months of 2020 as well.

“The pace of new digital subscriptions since early March has been at record levels,” said Robert W. Decherd, chairman, president and chief executive officer of A. H. Belo Corp.

The subscription graph continued to climb even as the Morning News gave readers free access to the website for information related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, despite the significant increase, Decherd estimates print advertising revenue to fall between 25 percent to 35 percent this year due to the pandemic.
