The new startup publication launched by Laura McGann, former politics editor of Vox.com and Politico, and Mark Bauman, previously with the National Geographic and ABC News, has tapped Lauren Morello as a science editor, overseeing the science, health, tech, and climate coverage.
She joins from Politico, where she was recently a deputy health care editor. Before that, she was at Nature Research (Publishing) in Washington, where she served as Americas bureau chief, senior news editor and assistant U.S. news editor.
She was also a reporter, Greenwire and E&E Daily; copy editor, E&E Daily, and then served as a science reporter, ClimateWire at E&E News.
Morello graduated from Boston University with a M.S. in science and medical journalism, and has a B.A. in chemistry from Drew University.
