According to an agreement between Tribune Publishing and Sun-Times Media, the Tribune can continue printing and distributing the Chicago Sun-Times. The news was announced in an internal memo.
The terms of the deals were not disclosed.
“We’ve succeeded in restructuring and extending our agreement with Tribune Publishing to print and deliver the Sun-Times,” Nykia Wright, interim Sun-Times Media CEO said in the internal email. “While we still have much work to do, the new contract represents a positive step forward in improving the financial health of our business.”
A spokeswoman for Tribune declined to comment.
As of now, Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times are both printed at Tribune’s Freedom Center plant at 777 W. Chicago Ave.
