Yahoo Finance hires executive producer from Fox Business

Yahoo Finance 2016Yahoo Finance 2016Yahoo Finance editor in chief Andy Serwer sent out the following on Monday:

We are delighted to announce that Kevin Burke has joined Yahoo Finance in the role of Executive Producer, to head up our growing live stream business.

Kevin is an Emmy Award winning producer with more than 15 years experience.  He most recently served as Executive Producer of Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” the No. 1 news program in business on cable television.  While there, Kevin spearheaded a complete overhaul of show’s online and social media presence resulting in exponential growth in viewer engagement, and helped the network score record ratings in prime time.

Prior to joining Fox Business Network, Kevin spent over 10 years at CNN, working across multiple shows.

We’re making a significant investment in live events on Yahoo Finance, having already seen considerable success with the first-ever live stream of Berkshire Hathaway’s annual shareholder meeting, the Further with Ford Conference, Microsoft Ignite, Concordia, and more.  This programming represents the type of content offerings that differentiate Yahoo Finance from its competitors – combining our scale, technology, and editorial excellence – and Kevin is the perfect person to help us build on the momentum.

Kevin will be based in Yahoo’s New York office.  His first day is today.
