Rebecca Blumenstein, deputy managing editor and international editor of The Wall Street Journal, sent out the following announcement on Monday afternoon:
We’re looking for an experienced reporter to join the combined Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones Newswires bureau in Canada to cover some of its big corporate players — with a special focus on Research In Motion.
The Canadian corporate beat is all about technology, and we’re looking for someone with a track record of breaking corporate news, anything from boardroom shuffles to product launches. The beat would also include some of the country’s other national champions, from Bombardier to Air Canada. The successful candidate should also be able to break news and visualize and execute corporate stories, from features to the front page, as well as being flexible enough to jump into general assignment news reporting.
The reporter will be writing for all Dow Jones platforms, from front-page WSJ leders, Extras and aheds to Dow Jones Newswires stories and FX Trader scoops. A willingness to enjoy chilly temperatures — and all that comes with it, including hockey and maple syrup — is a plus. The position is based in the eminently livable Toronto.
Please get in touch with Chip Cummins, our Canada bureau chief, Steve Wisnefski or me if you are interested.
