The Wall Street Journal has hired Bryan Mena as an economics reporter covering the U.S. economy.
He will be based in Washington.
Mena begins after graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he is a senior political science student. There, he also served as the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper.
He began his career at his community college’s newspaper and then interned at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, El Paso Inc. and the San Francisco Chronicle.
This summer, he covered the Texas Congressional delegation and federal politics through a fellowship with the Texas Tribune.
