Francesco Guerrera, the editor of the Money & Investing section of The Wall Street Journal, sent out the following staff announcement Friday afternoon:

We are delighted to announce that Juliet Chung will be joining Money & Investing as our new hedge fund reporter. In her new role, Juliet will cover one of the most exciting beat in modern finance just as the hedge fund industry undergoes major changes driven by market turbulence, regulation and increased competition. Juliet will be part of our Investing team led by Justin Baer.

In her five years at the WSJ Juliet has built a reputation as a fearsome reporter, a committed scoop-getter and a fast learner. She first worked for the Journal in 2003 as a summer intern in Boston. She came back in 2007, joining the WSJ after working for papers including the LA Times and Newsday. For the past two she has covered luxury real-estate for Weekend, dealing with, and breaking stories on, many of the secretive, ultra-rich, media-shy finance types she will encounter on her new beat.

Please join me in welcoming Juliet to M&I and wishing her great success in the new role.
